Current Medical Ethical Issues

Abstract

The moral principles governing medical profession is called as medical ethics. In every profession, there are some moral obligations by professionals to be followed in their professional practice. These moral obligations are not legal bindings, but needed to be followed by medical practitioners in their professional practice while dealing with the patients. The principles help to keep respect of professionals towards the noble, humane services towards society. There are several code of conduct governing the medical profession. These are mainly The Hippocratic oath, Declaration of Helsinki (1964), The Nuremberg Code (1947), Declaration of Geneva, The Code of Medical Ethics regulations 2002. The Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette, and Ethics) Regulations, 2002.
